O presente texto tem por objetivo expor a evolução jurisprudencial do tema custos vulnerabilis penal no Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Ceará (TJCE), utilizando o método dedutivo, a partir da coleta de dados jurisprudenciais, servindo-se de pesquisa bibliográfico-documental. Conclui-se que houve crescente escalada jurisprudencial no TJCE, que culminou com a edição do enunciado 71 da Súmula cearense que reconhece a legitimidade interventiva da Defensoria Pública enquanto custos vulnerabilis.
The present text aims to expose the jurisprudential evolution of the topic custos vulnerabilis in Criminal Proceedings in the Ceará State Court of Appeals (TJCE), using the deductive method based on the collection of jurisprudential data and relying on bibliographical-documentary research. It is concluded that there has been a growing jurisprudential tendency in the TJCE, which culminated in the edition of enunciation 71 of the Ceará Summary, which recognizes the interventionist legitimacy of the Public Defender's Office as custos vulnerabilis.
