Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar a relação entre cineastas e o movimento sindical no período final do regime autoritário imposto pela ditadura civil militar em 1964 e como a construção da identidade operária no início dos anos 1980 foi realizada através de uma produção fílmica expressando o avanço gradual do processo de abertura política e a tensão política e social do período. Através do filme “Eles não usam Black Tie”, dirigido por Leon Hirszman (1980), podemos analisar a percepção do cineasta sobre a construção da identidade operária brasileira.

This article aims to analyse the relationship between filmmakers and the trade union movement in the end period of the authoritarian regime imposed by the dictatorship civil-military in 1964 as well as the construction of working class identity at the beginning of 1980’s was performed by means of a film production by expressing the gradual progress of the process of opening policy and the political and social tension of the period. Through the film Eles não usam Black Tie, directed by Leon Hirszman (1980), we can analyse the perception of the filmmaker on the construction of identity brazilian worker.
